Almost to the end of Feb­ru­ary with my uploads and blog posts. It’s a bit of a direc­tion change with some strange blurry tools and using white to oblit­er­ate and some­times blend with col­ors. I always have a lot of dif­fer­ent medi­ums in white for my work. I like using it addi­tively instead of an eraser. I tested that out in this draw­ing and I think I’ll try it in some upcoming.

This draw­ing feels a bit like a box was opened and the wind blew it’s con­tents about the room.
It is ener­getic, happy, joy­ful, and surprising.

I really just let what­ever hap­pen in this draw­ing.
Hold­ing on to a sim­ple set of tools. Scrib­bling a bit. Smudg­ing a bit. A lit­tle bit of red. It’s a bit like wire to me. Hard to bend and meet my expectations.

What does one think of when spring is near?

This is one expe­ri­ence that come to mind.

I’ve always found the repet­i­tive draw­ing of lines med­i­ta­tive. They are like threads to me. Threads that have dif­fer­ent mean­ings in the con­text of other marks in my vocab­u­lary.  These could be stacks of paper with leaves pressed between them.

Most of my draw­ing has a series of marks that are repeated in rhythm and some­times in tan­dem with other marks.
This was a sim­ple expe­ri­ence. Draw­ing a coil. Not a spiral.

These are marks I love to see. Sit­ting qui­etly together. Related and not — simultaneously.
